PERTH - the dynamic city
Australia is the 6th largest nation after
Russia, Canada, China, the United States of
America and Brazil. In comparison however,
Australia has a relatively small population
with approximately 20 million. It is one of
the world?s most urbanised countries, with
about 70% of the population living in the
10 largest cities. Most of Australia's population
is concentrated along the eastern seaboard
and the south-eastern corner of the continent.
The only nation in the world to govern an
entire continent, and outlying islands, the
Australian federation formed in 1901, consists
of 6 states and 2 Territories. The largest
State, Western
Australia, is about the same size as Western
Europe.
Sun,
adventure, an awesome natural environment
and friendly folk is what you will find when
you visit Western Australia. Nowhere else
in the world can you experience and interact
with such unique natural attractions. With
over 12,000 kilometres of crystal-clear coastline,
teeming with brilliant coral, unspoiled reefs,
19th century shipwrecks, spectacular surf
and majestic sea creatures, an aquatic playground.
With a
climate to suit all occasions, the big variety of landscapes
and climates in Western Australia means there is always
plenty of sunshine. It is a land blessed with spectacular
diversity where the deep reds of ancient interior rock
formations contrast with the sparkling blue of the Indian
and Southern Oceans and the lush greenery of the stunning
southern regions.
Beyond
Perth's city skyline is an unspoiled wilderness,
with ancient forests, spectacular wildflowers
and natural bushland. Western Australia has
the biggest and most vivid range of wildflowers
in the world. Over 12,000 species carpet the
landscape in a tapestry of brilliant blooms
and perfumed scents.
The
sheer size of Western Australia beckons travellers
back time and again to explore the endless
spectacular beauty and Aussie frontier adventure.
Here life is simple and genuine. Combine this
with the Australian warm welcome and cheery
'G'day Mate' it is truly the authentic Australian
experience.
